Preston & Districts Laryngectomee Association

Practical help and support groups

The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month between 2pm-4pm at Vine House, Cancer Support – Preston. We meet in relaxed surroundings and provide a welcome to all laryngectomee’s, their carers family and friends, we invite professionals to keep us up to date with all things to do with our medical needs, and usually we have a member of the Speech and Language from the Royal Preston Hospital attending. We organise a buddy scheme which begins pre-operation and continues for as long as needed, also we can signpost to other organisations if specialist help is required. Certain members spread the word “Raising Awareness of Neck Breathers” by making presentations to groups ranging from St John’s Ambulance to University students.
